About Us

Family Owned, Quality Driven.

At Rood Family Bull Rental, we take the "hassle" out of herd management. For over 15 years, we’ve provided cattlemen with top-tier, registered genetics without the year-round expense of maintaining a bull.

Whether you need calving ease for heifers or high-growth power bulls, our mission is to provide docile, high-performing bulls that outgrow their mothers by weaning. We invite you to come out to the farm and check out the bulls in person whenever you'd like—we believe in transparency and the quality of our livestock.

"The bulls have been great with docility, calving ease, and big-time growth... Casey has a lot of bulls with all kinds of EPDs. I would highly recommend renting from him." - Brendan from Millersville, MN

How We Raise Our Bulls

Nutritional Foundation

Our bulls are started on high-quality grass hay for 30-45 days before transitioning to a silage-based program. During extreme cold, we supplement with light haylage to ensure they maintain condition and vigor.

Hardy & Healthy

We believe in housing our animals outside. They are provided with plenty of bedding and have access to both dirt lots and slats to keep them out of the mud, ensuring strong feet and sound development.

Docility First

We select for great dispositions. Our bulls are handled regularly so that when they arrive at your farm, they are ready to work without the headache of aggressive behavior.

Our Commitment to Your Herd

  • Every bull is semen tested and fully vaccinated with Bovishield, Vision 20/20, and a 9-way protocol. They receive Ivermectin pour-on at the farm and are re-poured upon delivery to your gate.

  • In the event a bull becomes lame or senile, we will switch him out immediately. We just ask that you notify us ASAP so the bull can be evaluated and treated.

  • We offer delivery for a reasonable fee. To keep costs low for you, we aim to haul multiple bulls in a single trip. We also ensure all bulls meet appropriate testing requirements for crossing state lines.

A Note on Insurance

Rood Family Bull Rental carries a basic blanket policy that covers catastrophic events (lightning, storms, wild animals, etc.). Please note: This is not health insurance. As the lessee, you are responsible for the daily health and monitoring of the bull. If you do not check your cattle frequently, we strongly recommend purchasing a supplemental health insurance policy. If a health issue arises, we will have a veterinarian evaluate the bull at our cost to determine the next steps.
